You know sometimes, you just got a smile on your face that no moment can dull. You don’t know why you’re happy, you don’t know what’s coming next. All you know is that you’re happy – a soul level happiness.
And sometimes that’s all you need to know.
The Setup
So my wisdom tooth has been hurting for a few days now. And it’s maddening ‘cuz I was just gaining traction on tetra, I was scheming up articles putting my master plan into action. And then the pain came.
My wisdom tooth started hurting and I was like dammit I wanted to launch tetra before new years why the hell is this pain coming now, like I haven’t had any wisdom tooth pain in over 10 years and I’m getting it now? What freaking gives.
But you know, today I was talking to some friends in the program and they were telling me how God is working their lives. And I was like, damn, if God is working their lives why can’t he work in mine? It’s not like I’m the worst person in the world.
Happiness
So after talking to these people I got really excited. I was like OH BOYYYY, am I really gonna get what I’ve always wished for. Like these people are getting the jobs that they need, new cars – and of course it’s not just about material gains; they’re satisfied in life. Now satisfaction is an elusive concept. Some people are happy with 100k, some people are happy with $1M, and some people are just happy working minimum wage.
Happiness is the key. And some people seem to have a lower threshold of what it takes to make them happy. I really envy that you know. Like all you need is a decent car, a well paying job, and a wife; and you’re happy? Man… that makes me feel like I’m asking for the world. But this isn’t about judging anyone’s desires or ambitions in life. We all want what we want, and we sometimes can’t quite articulate why it is we exactly want these things. Almost like our ambitions and desires are divine seeds placed within us to drive us.
The Joy
And you know, today I’m pretty happy. ‘Cuz I have faith and trust, that if I stay on my own path, and I move forward with integrity and purpose, what is destined for me will not pass me by. And you know I don’t wanna go into detail about what exactly it is I want – it’s up to you to figure out what you want. But MANNN. If God can truly really give me what I want, and not just meet but exceed my expectations. Brothers and sisters, life might just be tolerable one day ;). Dare I say, even enjoyable?
Honestly I’m just happy where I am right now. I’m still striving for more. But that’s what faith is about. It’s not knowing the how, what, where, when, why. It’s just believing and acting upon principles. That if your vision is aligned with a greater purpose, it will come to fruition.
So you know even as I ate my pizza today, devoid of pleasure because my tooth was hurting. Even though I’ve been banned from a discord server where I actually belonged – but let’s be real I was asking for it. Even though no one in my life is truly cheering me on or giving me the round of applause I think I deserve.
My spirit is smiling.
Because it knows great things are on the way.
Now I would encourage you to define your own relationship with the divine. Seek your own signs. But one day I hope to be writing an article not from a “what if” perspective, but from a “it happened” perspective.
For now I shall rejoice in my faith, ‘cuz who knows what is written in tomorrows chapter.
